Raja Jackson, the son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, brutally assaulted a pro-wrestler at an independent event in California on Saturday, August 23. The scene was caught live on streaming platform Kick.
In the video, Raja can be seen entering the ring at a Knokx Pro Wrestling event, where he went on to attack wrestler Stuart Smith, aka Syko Stu. The 25-year-old proceeded to hoist Smith above his head and then slammed him onto the mat. Raja then mounted the wrestler and proceeded to unload on Smith. The wrestler seemed to be knocked out from the slam itself and couldn't defend himself as Raja unloaded punches on his face.

Other wrestlers quickly stormed into the ring to hold Raja in a corner and restrain him from attacking Smith anymore. You can see the full video below:
The above video also includes an incident from earlier on Saturday when Smith seemingly broke a beer bottle on Raja's head. It is believed that the attack inside the ring stemmed from the earlier altercation between the two.
Reports stated that the spot between Raja and Smith was a planned one but the onslaught from the former was unexpected. Smith was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, with many fearing that he may have passed away inside the ring.
Rampage Jackson took to X to first clear off the misinformation that Smith passed away and said that the wrestler is awake and stable. The UFC legend confirmed that it was a work that went wrong and Jackson said that he doesn't condone his son's actions.
Rampage said that Raja had no business being involved in pro-wrestling and also said that he suffered a concussion a few days ago from sparring. The UFC legend apologised on his son's behalf.
"I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in the ring,i thought it was a part of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!"
"He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery.I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation," said Rampage.
Raja has a 4-0 record on the amateur MMA scene and turned pro in 2023.
