With a few months remaining in the year, reports suggest Krafton India will host two more events. This is in line with the roadmap they are likely to reveal for the second half of the year. Krafton India has already hosted two official events, BGIS and BMPS, in the first half of the year, with many wondering what the second half would look like.
Krafton India was supposed to host a franchise-based tournament in the second half of the year, but that seems to have been pushed back. The official roadmap, which is likely to be revealed soon, according to the reports.
BGMI tournaments open opportunities for PMGC 2025
For now, details about the two events are unavailable, but what is confirmed is that the winner of one of these events will get a chance to represent India at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC 2025).
This is the first time since the game got unbanned for the second time that the Indian region will get a chance to compete in the PMGC 2025. For the longest time, the athletes were only playing within the region, with no exposure to how the international lobby works. However, this is likely to change this year.
Interestingly, this will not be the Indian team’s first outing this year. In the first half of the year, when BMPS 2025 was played, the winner of the tournament represented the region at the Esports World Cup PUBG Mobile tournament. The winner, Team Aryan x AMG, played in the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025.
For a region waiting to compete in the global lobby, this was an opportunity of a lifetime. While the result didn’t go in their favour, the team did become the first one to compete internationally after almost years of waiting.
The game was banned in September 2020 by the Indian government. The government site data security concerns under the Section 69(A) of the IT Act.
